Structure and appointment

Six principal organs: a General Assembly, a Security Council, an Economic and Social Council, a Trusteeship Council, an International Court of Justice and a Secretariat. The Security Council has fifteen members, five of them permanent; a substantive decision requires nine votes including the concurring votes of the permanent members.
