Structure and appointment

Governed by a five-member Board of Directors: the Comptroller of the Currency and the Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau serve ex officio, and three members are appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate for six-year terms. One appointed member must have State bank supervisory experience. Not more than three Board members may be of the same political party.
